Thursday, May 8

Please email your month of miracles projects directly to Stephanie Riley at Younger and Associates. Make sure that you send that out today! Please bring your scavenger hunt photos to class on Thursday. You should have some items shot for your final personal project. Please bring these files so we can look over them on Thursday. I will have the final list for photo diary project posted to the blog on Thursday. We will meet at the 8 am hour for class on Thursday. I will bring doughnuts to ease the pain and speed the cleaning. Thursday, May 1

Please have your product photography on a stick to look at in class. You need to send me a link to your month of miracles project. Last day to turn in. If you were not able to shoot the month of miracles - you will need to cover one of the art exhibitions in an editorial style. Those will be due the next class period after you shoot senior exhibition. Class will meet at noon instead of the usual at the 11 am hour due the noon critique in class. See you then!

Tuesday, April 29

Please have some test shoots done so we can look things over in class on Tuesday to see how you are headed. We will need to have your product shots for Thursday and don't forget to send me a drop box link to your month of miracles project as soon as you get them edited.

Thursday, April 24

Try out some test shots for your projects. Start shooting. Don't wait until the last minute on this one guys. Don't forget your product shots will be due on Thursday, May 1. Please turn in your final draft of your proposals on Thursday.

Tuesday, April 22

Please have your proposals typed, printed and ready to look over for Tuesday. If you made revisions please turn in a revised proposal for Tuesday. You get grades for these so make this a priority. Start shooting if you have been approved! Don't forget Month of Miracles - edits are needing to be turned in as soon as you are done shooting.

PHOTO DIARY
Product shooting. 10 different products with detail and overview shots. Will be due in two weeks. Get notes from fellow students in class on shooting.

Tuesday, April 15

Please have your concert photography ready to look over for Tuesday. You will need to have your Month of Miracles project edited at the latest by Thursday next week. We will start discussing your next and final body of work on Monday and the proposals will be due on Thursday next week. Getting down the final days guys! You can do this!

Critique - Thursday, April 10

Remember your critique will start at 10:50 AM in the PAC hallway. Have all your prints and formatted artist statement hung in the hallway. Installation in the hallway and at the site counts toward the grade. See you then!

We will look at your concert work on Tuesday next week and don't forget about Month of Miracles projects this weekend. Will be looking for files from that as soon as Thursday or Tuesday next week. Make sure you get good variety of shots, closeup, overviews, horizontals and verticals. Will be used in publications for the future Month of Miracles projects and you will be credited if your photo used. Good portfolio work!

Monday, April 7

You must have images to show for your installation project in class on Tuesday. Also please have a rough of your artist statement in the correct format. Have this worked out because we will look over and spend the rest of the time on the install. Install will be due on Thursday morning at 10:50 am. Have a wonderful break and don't forget to plan to have your photo diary of concert work knocked out the following week.

Tuesday, March 25

Please have your photos sent to me to send to heart gallery. Want to get them out asap. Also have your websites up to standard with as much content as you want feedback on. Kristi will be reviewing your work on Tuesday at 11 am. Please start shooting for your projects. They will be coming around the corner before you know it. 

Wednesday, march 19

Meet outside the chapel at 2:50 pm tomorrow afternoon. Will have an hour to get the photos in. Have an idea of where you might like to head for shots. 

Fashion shoot - will be due on Tuesday next week for images. Those without proposals turn in on Thursday or will receive no credit. Please get your images ready to turn in on flash drive from Wednesday shoot for Thursday's class. Would like to get them turned around to client as soon as possible. 

Thursday, March 13

Please select a project for Month of Miracles. http://miraclesinjackson.com Select three that you are interested in. Don't forget to schedule to have time at 3 pm on March 19th to do our adoption shoot.

Have you website in the progress for Thursday. Finals for this will be due on Tuesday of next week, along with the senior guy photo shoot.

Please have a printed off proposal following the format from last time for installation project. See you on Thursday.

Tuesday,March 11

Complete a website for your photography work. Aim it toward your niche market. Should have work, about section and contact section. Create on word press, cargo collective or portfolio box - all these you can purchase a .com cheaply later. Have the website ready to go for Tuesdays class. 

Thursday, March 6

Please bring your cameras to class and your signed permission forms if you haven't turned them in already. Need those asap for us to do the adoption shoot. Will be discussing branding, online presence, etc. business stuff on Thursday. Be ready to talk about "THE FUTURE":) of what you photography practice might be.

UPDATE ON INSTALL

Ladies - please spread the word. INSTALL LOCATION CHANGED! Lost to mr benson because work not up. Go to along the wall by the library where normally graphics work. If Katie's work still up pleae have her move it. Do not put work in the normal photo hallway. It cannot stay up - go to main hallway so it can stay up for the month. Don't forget your artist statement.  See you at 1050.

Thursday, Feb. 27

Please have your work up in the hallway along with your formatted artist statement at the start of critique on Thursday. We will meet in the PAC art hallway at 10:50 and will run class from then to about noon. See you then!

Tuesday, Feb. 25

For Tuesday, please have your series of 50 ready to look over in digital form. We will be discussing hanging arrangements and locations. You will have until Thursday to put them up. Please bring your artist statement and your permission forms for our adoption shoot. (Chelsea come and get these from me at some point when you get back or you can fill out on Tuesday).

Please bring a paper copy of the artist statement to class. Chelsea - since only one without notes in person (make it more detailed as to the project and why you are having them do this and to what song).

Thursday, Feb.20

Please have your engagement photos ready to get critiqued and looked over in class. Bring on a stick. You will have the chance to make edits before submitting them for the photo diary. Be working on on your 50 series. Have some shots to look over for Thursday.

You will need to turn in a revised proposal if you have changed your idea. Make sure you have that for Thursday.

We will be looking over senior photo shoot tips on Thursday, talking about installation options for series of 50 and start talking about photo contracts for your business end of things.

Tuesday, Feb. 18

Please have your 20 senior images ready to show on Tuesday now since we didn't have class on Thursday. Please bring on a flash drive and we will look at them on the projector. You should have turned in your new proposals. Be shooting for your engagement shots and your series of 50. Have some photos of the 50 series to show. Deadline for that is fast approaching, engagement pictures are due on the 20th and the 50 series is due on the 27th. Make sure that you are on track for each of these.

Tuesday, Feb. 11

Please start on your engagement shoot for your photo diary assignment. This will be due on the Feb. 20th at the start of class. Take your couple and create a scene or a scenario. Get the classic shots with a twist of your situation that you are putting them in. We will look at some good engagement photographers to check out next class for ideas.

Welcome to Photography IV. This will be one of your best guides to keeping up with assignments during this course. Look here for inspiration, thoughts and assignments. If you would like to purchase film for the course. You will be using a digital techniques while exploring the business side of photography. Make sure you bring your camera and sketchbook to next class as well as a topic idea for your series of 50.
