Please keep going on your photo diary material. Don't forget have babies (maternity), senior portraits, bridal portraits and products left.

Test shoots and start shooting for the 150 if you can.

Be sure to make edits to family and send off before break. Get your edits on the conference to Dr Walls after break. Thank you for your efforts in shooting. They were much appreciated.

Be working on your 150. Text me your concepts over break so you can get started. Have a happy spring break!

Thursday, April 6

Please complete the following photographs for your photo diary challenge on athletes in motion. Have the following images uploaded into the drop box for Thursday. They can be of any type of athlete and can be multiple different people to complete the requirements.

1. Athlete in motion - motion freezed in frame (fast shutter speed) - Katie & Class
2. Athlete in motion background in focus - athlete blurred (slow shutter speed - make sure you are steady when holding the camera) - Katie & Class
3. Rim lighted athlete - can be a portrait or in motion / have some fun with this one. Use a prop that fits their sport.
4. One element of athlete in motion rest in still (ex. feet dancing rest straight / Riverdance?)
5. Athlete in focus background in blur - panning (make sure you match the movement of you with the movement of the subject - slow shutter)
6. Composite timelapse image of the athlete in motion

Have an idea of for your 150 series ready to discuss on Thursday before you leave for break.

Have three concepts written down on paper for your next set of series work. 150 total photos. Will look over photo diary stuff as soon as you have it to put up on the website.

Thursday, March 30

Please have your artist statement printed off and hung with your 100 set. Good luck on the hanging. Make sure that things are level and straight. We will meet for critique in the hallway on Thursday.

Tuesday, March 28

Last work day before the final. Use it wisely. Put up the family, baby and maternity assignment when you can to your website.

Thursday, March 23

Please be working on your family, maternity, baby shoots. Need to put them on your website and edit files as soon as you can to give you a good portfolio for summer jobs.

LARGE PROJECT
Shoot shoot and more shooting. Test out your installs so you can have any idea of what they are going to look like.

Please meet over in the pac to help with critique on the other kiddos. We will talk over babies and children tips to round out our family stuff. If you have some test shots the more the merrier. We only have two weeks left until the 100 is due.

Tuesday, March 14

PHOTO DIARY
Babies!! Book your baby appointment as soon as possible. Put all your finals for headshots and engagement shoots up on your website. Must have 10 of each item.

TEST SHOOTS
Get going on your test shoots for your images. Shoot as much as you can...the more options the better.

Please have your engagement shot finals uploaded onto the website for your final for that photo diary assignment. We need to get going on more test shoots for your ideas on Thursday. Make sure you've got your ideas articulated on paper in form of three proposal paragraphs (one paragraph for each idea) and test shoot for at least two of those ideas to look over for Thursday.

Tuesday, March 7

You need to have your engagement session up on your website. Make the changes on the website according to the critique that we had on Tuesday. Think out your ideas and talk it out with me today or tomorrow if possible. Please have some test shots toward two looks to look over for Tuesday. See you then!

Tuesday, Feb. 27

FOR CRITIQUE
You need to have all 50 of your series hung in the side gallery hallway by Tuesday morning. We will start class in the lab (I'll get them going and we will walk over to look over your material.) Make sure your artist statement is following format and hung in the hallway with the work. Be ready to submit your sketchbook for a grade with the project.

Your website is due to be in working order with your headshot photo diary requirement done. Your engagement shoot will be due on the website the following Tuesday. We will not have class on Thursday due to pottery workshop, but we will be starting on the next assignment after critique in class so you will have some time to do some sketching and idea process over the next week.

Thursday, Feb. 23

Okay - so only one more class session before critique. Must have a printed out copy of your artist statement to mark up. Must have plan for the hanging of the work. Must be almost finished with the works. Get busy shooting. Start on your engagement shots. Those will be due on Thursday, March 2 after critique on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Don't forget to have your website going to show off your headshots and logo, etc.  We will be putting your engagement shoot on the website along with this last project - 50 series.

Have your logo, website and work going and finalized. Get an artist statement printed out to proof. Test shoot / actual shoot. Remember got fifty to get to for the final - lots more shots before that. Be thinking about how you want to display the work, be ready to talk that out on Tuesday.

Thursday, Feb. 16

DUE THURSDAY
Please have your headshots finished and in the drop box. They are going to need to get finalized to go on your website.

Finalized and finish your logos. Start on your wordpresses. Take old work and start to put it into catergories that make sense to where you want your niche to be.

TEST SHOOT!! We need to have rough one of your artist statement printed out in class on Thursday.

Don't forget lecture and reception for show on Thrusday night at 4:30 pm.

Please have your logo finalized along with your choice of website.

You need to have 10 headshots in the dropbox for Tuesday. 5 with an object and 5 without. Can be different people if you choose. This is for your website ultimately.

You need to test shoot more for your 50 series. Chloe test shoot shadows and CeCe test shoot multiple angles backlight on white background. Experiment and upload to dropbox. We will see you Tuesday!

Please finish your logo. Presume the test shots we talked about in class. Get a website with your business name. Dropbox the 25 headshots for Tuesday.

JOB FOLDER
Start a job folder on yourself
1. Research your name and your competition
2. Personal statement on photography and why shoot and why name
3. List of words to use that support your brand and statement (ex. Bird Photography - Words that go with nesting, feathers, fly, soft, bright, flown, migrate, etc.)
4. Look over options for wordpress.com or squarespace.com (or any other site that you might want to start looking over for your website).

-Start scouting out models for yoga lipstick and locations.

THREE IDEAS FOR PROPOSAL
Type out three ideas for your series of 50. Think about things you care about, things you love, or things you hate. Look for the merge.
